Brainstore, your friendly neighborhood idea store, is now open for business in the quite Gràcia neigbourhood of Barcelona. During the entire month of June, passers-by are welcome to walk in and express their personal or professional needs. The store’s “Idea artisans” will respond to the challenge with a catalogue of ideas in less than a week. Customers will then be invited to reflect on the value of the service offered and will be invoiced accordingly.
The secret lies in the “Brainstore idea Machine”, a concept developed just over two decades ago in Switzerland, by Markus Mettler and Nadja Schnetzler. Since then, the innovation company has opened pop-up stores in their native Biel and New York and has been featured in magazines such as Time or Fast Company. Brainstore has been involved in over 2000 projects in 6 continents, including naming a little girl’s new dog, offering marketing ideas for Coca Cola or ideas for an Antarctic expedition.
The Barcelona store has been opened by NOBA, a global innovation consulting firm that partners with corporates to design and validate new products, services and business models through fast-prototyping. The founders’ purpose in opening the store is to delight Barcelona’s citizens with fresh ideas and have a great time doing so.
Should you find yourself in need of good ideas in Barcelona’s friendly Gràcia neighbourhood, do not hesitate to drop by the store at Ca l’Alegre de Dalt, 55 or book your slot at www.brainstore.com/barcelona/cita. Furthermore, the “Idea Machine” needs people to move its gears and generate ideas. Those interested in volunteering in one of Brainstore’s ideation workshops are welcome to sign up at www.brainstore.com/barcelona/participa.
